**27J Schools Celebrate Outstanding Achievements by Students and Staff**

Brighton, Colorado — The recent 27J Schools Board meeting was a time for celebration as students and staff were recognized for their exceptional state and national achievements. The evening highlighted accomplishments across various platforms, ranging from athletics to arts and academics, making it a proud moment for the 27J community.

### Brighton High School:

Several individuals from Brighton High School were honored for their remarkable feats this year:

- **Brooke Johnson** was named the 5A/4A Rocky Mountain Pitcher of the Year.

- **Taylor Madsen** earned national recognition, placing second in the USA Clay Target League.

- **Kori Zirker** and **Mateah Archuleta** qualified for national competition in the Solo Musical category of the International Thespian Society.

- **Justin Daigle** received a prestigious accolade, being named the H.L. Hall National Yearbook Advisor of the Year.

### Prairie View High School:

Prairie View High School also stood out with a fantastic achievement:

- **Kalei Dreiling** secured 1st place at the state level and a notable 9th place at nationals in the Skills USA Photography competition.

### Riverdale Ridge High School:

Riverdale Ridge High School had a memorable season, with the 5A Girls Softball Team clinching the State Championship. The team roster included:

- **Zoie Linville (#1), Arianna Gonzales (#2), Olivia Vargas (#3), Jerzi McArthur (#4), Jordyn Damian (#5), Kiana Cordova (#6), Lenae Medina (#7), Neila Lucero (#8), Peyton Saenz (#9), Mady Ortiz (#11), Brynn Trujillo (#13), Sage Englert (#15), Addi Sulley (#16), Shealyn Frashier (#17), Jayden Espinoza (#20), Aubrie Lerch (#21), Ganessa Duran (#22), Jazmyn Sandoval (#23), Jaeanna Sandoval (#24), Brynn Garduno (#28).**

Additionally, standout player **Mady Ortiz (#11)** was named the 5A Pitcher of the Year.

Each of these honorees has demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication, showcasing their talents on both state and national platforms. The board expressed their pride in celebrating these remarkable individuals and teams who continue to make 27J Schools shine. Congratulations to all!

Brighton, Colo. — The Brighton Police Department says the Cops and Bobbers fishing event is scheduled for Friday, June 13, 2025, at Barr Lake in Brighton from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with attendees told to use the main gate and sponsors including Rocky Mountain Pawn, Fascination Street Fine Art, Tabor Funeral Home, Walmart, Impressive Tees and Texas Roadhouse.

Power Equipment moves HQ to Brighton, creates 70-80 jobs

Power Equipment Company moved its headquarters from Denver to Brighton, Colo., occupying a 52,000-square-foot building on a 19-acre site, planning to create 70 to 80 jobs as it consolidates Denver, Greeley and Henderson locations and expands to branches in Casper, Wyo.; Albuquerque, N.M.; Aztec, N.M.; and Kansas City, Mo., becoming one of Colorado’s top three revenue generators in its industry, according to the Brighton Economic Development Corporation.
