Racist Text Messages Targeting Minorities Prompt Investigation
Staff Report / RockyMountlocal.org
The Rocky Mount Police Department has issued a public service announcement regarding the distribution of racially offensive text messages targeting individuals in the minority community. This issue has been noted not only on a national level but has also been reported locally in Rocky Mount.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating these communications in coordination with the Department of Justice and other federal agencies to tackle the problem more across the country.
Local authorities encourage residents who receive threatening messages, particularly those suggesting physical harm, to report them to the police immediately. This measure is aimed at ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
